Would it be weird if I said that large roofing projects are all about the rebates, final check in hand, and a jacked-up pickup truck? I say this because the roofs we have looked at show a similar pattern — cheap shingles, reused flashing, and lack of ventilation. Don’t get me started about the poor nailing pattern of the shingles themselves. Sure, this is not every roof and every company, but we run into these problems pretty consistently. For sure it is nearly impossible to have quality control measures in place on your end. Most of these roofs are two stories or complex single-story buildings. Now I’m sure this couldn’t be because of accepting the lowest price possible. Right?

We use Atlas products and we are certified through Atlas — so we are able to provide a 15 or 20 year non-prorated warranty against defects. We install better products and if those products fail, the Atlas warranty has you covered.

Common Questions from Property Managers

Here are the questions we hear most often before a property manager calls us for the first time.

How long a large roofing project takes depends on two factors — the size of the roof and the complexity of the project. A project could take a long weekend to accommodate no one being in the office, or it could take six months to complete. It just depends.
The short answer is yes — we work with your insurance company. We will meet with the insurance adjuster on site and go through the property together. Really we are there to allow the adjuster to do his job. Often times they do well but if needed we will assist in what we found and why the roof needs to be replaced. We see this more as a collaboration compared to an insurance versus contractor type of situation.
Yes we handle multiple buildings. Installing multiple buildings can increase the pressure but our view is we are completing one building at a time. Yes maybe 12 or more buildings need to be completed but when you view it as one building at a time the pressure leaves and you complete one good quality building at a time. Works well.
We are registered with the state of Oklahoma. It is more of a registration than a license. You can confirm our registration here: verifyroofing.cib.ok.gov/roofing/search. We are also insured — both for liability and workers compensation. A copy of both will be provided if needed.
Yes we do use subcontractors for the roofing work and we don’t shy away from this. I have installed roofs for 30 years and personally was an installer and a subcontractor for many years. Roofers are often times not treated very well. When we started our company one of my focuses was to take care of the workers. We have been to weddings and churches and taken kids to the park when in a bind. Our sub crews are treated well and paid well. You will see the difference.
Wood replacement is a major issue if a good quality roof has never been installed since the original construction. Often there are more rotten boards because not all the boards were replaced during the last roof. As well as damaged boards — broken boards or boards that don’t span 3 rafters. All of this is usually caused by subpar workmanship. What we try to do is include a good amount of wood replacement in the original quote. If we quote for 30 sheets of plywood per building and we use 35 total — an extra 5 sheets is not a sticker shock and may be absorbed in the quote. But if we didn’t plan for wood replacement and you had 12 buildings and 35 sheets of plywood per building — 420 sheets of wood replacement will be a huge sticker shock. It is all about planning.
