It’s Not Just a Roof. It’s the Buffer That Protects Your Home.
It’s Time to Acknowledge How Important Your Roof Is.
A massive storm rolls through Tulsa and takes half your shingles with it. Now you have interior damage, construction crews in and out for weeks, and life is completely turned upside down. All you want is for things to go back to normal. It’s one of the most stressful situations a homeowner can go through. Or maybe you went with the lowest bid on the last roof and have had problems ever since the first storm after it was installed.
How do you avoid the problems above? Through education and information. That is why we created this website — a place that provides real solutions and education that is easy to understand. We believe that an informed homeowner is in a better position to hire the right company, choose better products, get a better install, and a better warranty.

Our review is simple — “Here is what we found, and here is the solution.” Whether it’s a simple leak, a complex insurance claim, or a large apartment complex, the facts are all that drives us here at Green Country Roofing.
Why Ventilation Is the Most Overlooked Part of Your Roof
How often do you hear that ventilation is more important than the shingle type. The shingle gets all the attention — the color, the brand, the hail rating. If your attic isn’t properly ventilated, it doesn’t matter what shingle is on your roof. It will fail early. In Tulsa, 75% of roofs are running at a fraction of proper ventilation. Hot air gets trapped in the attic, shingles dry out from the inside, granules wash into the gutters, and the roof that you thought would last a lifetime starts failing when it’s 8-10 years old. There’s a building code formula called the 1/300 rule that tells you exactly how much ventilation your roof needs. Very few people, it seems, even know it exists, or perhaps some roofers just don’t care. We calculate it on every single roof we quote.
Choosing the Right Shingle for Oklahoma Weather
Oklahoma is not a one-size-fits-all roofing market. The temperature swings, the hail, the wind — your shingle needs to handle all of it. At minimum you want a Class 3 shingle for hail. Beware of shingles that don’t have a hail rating — those are often cheap builder grade shingles. The top-rated shingles for hail are Class 4. That means a 2” solid steel ball was dropped onto the shingle twice from 20 feet up without breaking it. Should you get a Class 3 or Class 4? Price will be a factor — think of it as an investment in your home. Are you staying long term? Is your insurance offering a discount for impact resistant shingles? The answers to those questions determine which shingle makes sense for your roof. We’ll walk you through every option.
What Separates a Good Roof Install from a Bad One
Once the shingles are down you can’t inspect what’s underneath. The nailing pattern, the decking condition, whether the old flashings were replaced or reused — none of that can be verified after the fact. The only time a roof can be properly inspected is during the installation. We check our work while it’s happening. Not after the crew leaves, not at the final walkthrough — during. That’s the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.
Should You Repair or Replace?
This is the question we get more than any other. How old is the roof? How often does it leak? What does the repair cost compared to replacement? Some repairs make complete sense — a cracked pipe boot, a few blown shingles, isolated flashing damage. Other times the repair delays the inevitable and you end up spending an amount of money that could be a good percentage of a full replacement. Always know the replacement cost before committing to a repair. If a repair is all you need, that’s what we’ll tell you.
